I thought bit was Lee Dixon to start with, Was wracking my brain top remember if Ashton played for Leeds as he seemed very partisan towards them, which did surprise me.

Starting a thread due to Ashton making a comment.

Are you ten years old?

El Scorchio 12:35 Mon Jan 10
Re: Dean Ashton
My feeling is he was going out of his way to not be biased toward us as his old club, and he ended up going somewhat too far the other way.

Yeah he fucking hates us...

Re: Dean Ashton
The club has clearly pissed him off somehow. His commentary was very Leeds bias. He reminded me of how Lampard speaks about West Ham

Re: Dean Ashton
I didn’t get that impression at all.
He’s just calling it as he sees it, the goal went to VAR and could of gone either way.

Re: Dean Ashton
I haven't noticed that he's got it in for spurs at all

Re: Dean Ashton
It must be immensely frustrating for him watching us play knowing through no fault of his own he never got anywhere near fulfilling his potential.
He could of been an exceptional player for us for a number of years lmo.
I remember being at Fulham when he came on as sub after rhe injury lay off and it was obvious he was still struggling and unlikely ro be anywhere near the same player.
The curse of being picked for England.

Re: Dean Ashton
Dean Ashton on his day was phenomenal. I actually thought he would be the successor to Shearer in an England shirt. That's football for you though, injuries are part of the game. Career-ending ones must be difficult to come to terms with.

Re: Dean Ashton
Whenever I’ve heard Ashton speak about the club, it’s always been with affection.
Must be hard for a player contributing to live comments having played for one of the clubs. Can only imagine he tried a little too hard to be unbiased and went too far ‘on the other side’.

Lee Trundle 11:14 Mon Jan 10
Re: Dean Ashton
One of the better pundits out there.

Speaks intelligently, which is probably why crossed yiddo struggles with him.

BillyJenningsBoots 11:18 Mon Jan 10
Re: Dean Ashton
I've never heard him say anything uncomplimentary about West Ham.. I didn't catch all the game but what I heard was objective and intelligent unlike Beckford and Defoe.

Can either The Spurs fan or Toad give us an example of his Leeds bias maybe?

Re: Dean Ashton
So now ex-players being fair in their commentary are being pulled up by Tottenham fans posing as West Ham.....just fuck off Faux Bare......as for thinking Ashton was stolen from us by injury the fact is he was that good he was being lined up at every opportunity to go and join the club he supported.....Manchester United......now maybe you can have a pop at him for backing Leeds when being a Manchester United supporter as well.......

Spot on SOH

He'd have been off to the Mancs for sure

Re: Dean Ashton
BJB

He was a bit OTT about Vlassic's dive. Other than that it did seem he was attempting to over-compensate for his well-known affiliation to West Ham.

Anyone who has heard him speak knows he loves the club. He just got it a bit wrong, yesterday. It's fair for people to point it out, but there's no need to slag him off.

fraser 1:31 Mon Jan 10
Re: Dean Ashton
Vlasic clearly slipped, but then appealed for a free kick.

Don't all players well most appeal for every throw in even when they know it isn't their's, like a natural instinct..
